2008 HIGH ROLLER REINING - LAS VEGAS
The team of Brent Naylor and the dynamic black stallion Big Papi rolled through the High Roller Reining Classic and picked up two titles along the way. The duo captured both the Open Level 1 & Level 2 Championships in the $15,000-added Open Derby by scoring a 219.5.
“I went in the first stop, and I just kind of let him tell me what he thought he could handle, and he said ‘take a little bit more,’ so I went a little harder,” Naylor explained. “He did everything that he was supposed to do.”
The win was significant for Naylor, as it was the last major derby he’ll show the 6-year-old stallion in. “He’s owned by the Big Papi Syndicate, and I would really, really like to thank them,” Naylor said. “My wife has also been a huge, huge part of Papi’s success. We wouldn’t be here without her.”

Naylor Barn Celebrates a Successful Year It was a busy and successful year in the barn of Naylor Performance Horses, and many of the riders in the barn walked away with several year-end honors. “It was a great year for my barn, and I’m extremely proud of everyone in my barn,” said Brent Naylor. “They’ve worked hard all year, and it’s great to see it pay off in the end.”

The riders in Naylor’s barn earned honors in both the Arizona Reining Horse Association and the Desert Reining Horse Association.

Doctor Champagne pulled double duty this past year, as he also took Sheryl Ali to Top Ten finishes in both the AzRHA’s Non Pro and Limited Non Pro division. “Riding with Brent, he someone who will bring you up to your potential,” Sheryl said. “He’s very good on giving you direction and focus. I work nights, so sometimes when I come to ride, I’m tired, but Brent will help keep me on track. I think all of the non pros in his barn do so well because he wants us to do it perfect and helps us get there. For me, he brings you to the level that you want to be.”
